We were inspired by a Westfield idea to do this self-promo campaign. We narrowed down the website URL's to:
everydaycatalyst.com (unsure about this because of all the y's)
and
creatorsmovement.com
What do we think is the easiest to remember? What would be most easily read/seen?
Below are the main intro pages for each possible URL (a little different to fit the title), a "how we got here" page, and then a request for people's submissions.
MAIN INTRO: The Everyday Catalyst
Every time we walk out the front door we are hit in the face with colors, shapes, lines and textures of what society either labels as beautiful or ugly. As artists it is our job to move beyond these labels and see what they can't.
(Project Name Here) is a project with one goal in mind: find the beauty in the everyday. We want to redefine what people see as beautiful. By doing this we are the reason for change. We are the starting point for not only changing how we see the world, but also for how everyone else sees the world.
We are the everyday catalyst.

(Project Name Here) is a project with one goal in mind: find the beauty in the everyday. We want to refine how we see and then create art inspired by everyday objects. By doing this we are the reason for change. We are the starting point for not only changing how we see the world, but also for how everyone else sees the world. We want to redefine what people see as beautiful.
We are creating, and we are creating a movement.
HOW WE GOT HERE Page
We paired together originally to work on a campaign for a contest based on Westfield Mall in East London-Stratford City, United Kingdom. After going back to the drawing board during the 5th week of development we brought our work into class and realized the big idea we ended up with for that go around worked much better and we were much more passionate about as a way to not only self-promote, but a medium where we can start a movement.
We believe that what we have to draw from, and what we create from comes from the details of what is around us. We don’t always get to create from the stereotypically beautiful, and so it is our mission to not only open our eyes (and yours) to the everyday beautiful objects, but also to the seemingly ugly as well. There is beauty in everything, and here we hope to bring out the beauty in the everyday object.

There is only so much that we can see. While we are still attempting to perfect our ability to see, we want to see what you view as beautiful as well. It can be anything- a banana peel, a single flower, or a crack in the sidewalk. Show us what you see, and you can be an everyday catalyst for change too.

ReplyDeleteI agree with 'creatorsmovement.com'. It's very memorable and I'm dumbfounded that it's available. That's a major score.
ReplyDeleteHere's comments to the rest:
alt. MAIN INTRO: The Creators Movement
Edited a few things to hit harder. Things aren't going to happen, they're happening. You're not a solo endeavor, you want people to join your movement.
Every time we walk out the front door we are hit in the face with colors, shapes, lines and textures of what society either labels as beautiful or ugly. As artists, it is our job to move beyond these labels and see what others can't.
(Project Name Here) has one goal in mind: find the beauty in the everyday. We're redefining how we see and create art. We're changing how we see the world and asking you to do the same. Let's reinvent beauty.
We the creators. And we're creating a movement.
HOW WE GOT HERE Page
I cut the whole intro paragraph because the reason why you're doing this is bigger than a killed campaign. Suggested edits below.
We believe that what we have to draw from—what we create from— comes from the details of what is around us. We don’t always get inspiration from the stereotypically beautiful. we're here to open our eyes (and yours) to the everyday beautiful objects, but also to the seemingly ugly as well. There is beauty in everything, if you look hard enough.

GENERAL TAGLINE OPTIONS
I think all of these will have a purpose in this campaign.
3. Everyday details have the loudest voices. (CW tagline)
4. To create art is to see the pieces and create the whole. (AD tagline)
10. A true visionary sees the details.
12. Create from the details.
Use this as your tag and AD must create a logo lockup that puts 'creators movement' visually before the tag so it relates appropriately.
7. Redefining what art does. (Advertising specific)
