PRE-KICK WEBSITE 02

It also can be expanded.

the user can filter the videos by projects or titles (people). If it is filtered by projects, it can be filtered by completion & location.

the user clicks on the login tab to login, the login dialouge will pop up for him/her to fill in the info. if he/she hasn't signed up yet, he/she can hover over the join to sign up.

  1. Thuy, we still need the My Creations and My Collaborations tabs at the bottom right. When I was suggesting the login I saw it as a band that covers the entire bottom portion of the site. That way the collaborations/creations/filters tabs are concealed until you login as a member at which point the band would disappear. This gives people the opportunity to browse the site, but limits what they can do until they have become a member.

  2. I like it! Good job. Its clearere. However, I think the filter and login buttons should be on top. Login looks really funny on the bottom. Also why are there 2 arrows on each side? I think one arrow on each side could be sufficient. i would also think about different icons for the refresh button.

  4. I agree the login should be at the top, its everyones natural tendency to look in the upper right to log in

  5. I really think that if you have a band with the login that comes from the bottom, it covers the User only buttons and then disappears after you've logged in, would work. You don't need to have the login permanently in the top right corner, and since this is our site we can make some creative changes.

Including the login in the top right gives us the added issue of what to do with the user only buttons if you aren't a user.

  7. JP thats a good idea, but I think its a little complicated. It will be hard to design and explain. I think we should keep it really simple. We should just keep a login button on top right hand corner. Look at every website - Facebook, Twitter, Quora, etc. The login is on the top and its really simple. We really need to simplify! The more simple it is the more clear it is.

  8. I understand the simplifying which is why I think my idea will work. If you include the login in the top right you have an extra design element cluttering the main page. My way I think will keep the site clean to users, while still giving non-users access to browse.

With it in the top right you have to figure out what it looks like as a visitor to the site, since you would have to figure out would the buttons buttons be locked? grayed out? can users expand them? What happens after someone logs in how does it disappear? The band just blocks browsers from using the search tools. I am posting what took me five minutes as an example of what I am saying. I just don't want the idea killed yet without it actually being represented, especially if it would mean more work.
