Kickstarter Login Test

  1. Okay I like the design. However, some questions and concerns I had with this particular option (instead of login option on top right hand corner) is -

    1. How will a user see this login band? Will it pop-up as soon as he enters the homepage? Or every time he scrolls over the area he will see it if he hasn't logged in yet?

    2. After user logs in will they ever see the login band again? If not, how can user log out/sign out? There has to be a sign out option.

    3. How does user view their account settings? For example, if they want to delete their account, how would they get to this page?

I was just thinking a simple login option on top right hand side, with a drop down menu for log out and account settings. Real simple, like Twitter.

But if you think you could incorporate these concerns in this current design then I don't mind it.

  2. Addressing the issues:
    1) the login band will be there when anyone gets to the site unless they choose to have the site remember them. The band stays where it is until you have logged in or created an account, only users have access to the functions that the band hides.

2.After people have logged in the band hides, but there should be a way to pull up the sign out option, similar to the other icons at the bottom just a little grayed out icon maybe, otherwise maybe the sign out option is in one of the bottom icons.

    3. Account settings seems profile based. After meeting with Thuy we figured that the buttons at the bottom are mainly for navigation, this keeps everything on this one page. So when you want to change your profile you use the navigation and it takes you to where your profile is within the page. Then profile settings could be like the advanced tools members have access to on a project, the account settings could maybe be accessed only by you while you are editing your profile.
